Arriving in a dark blue wash for SS20, this edition of the Charles Jacket from A.P.C. is made from 100% cotton denim and features caramel coloured top stitching. As a timeless denim jacket style reworked with the Paris atelier’s reputation for quality and detail, the front is fastened by six silver buttons customised with a ‘A.P.C. rue Madame près du Luxembourg' design and above the pointed collar neckline adds a classic touch. On either side of the chest below a horizontal placket two small pockets with flap closures are available for storing essential items in addition to two larger compartments at the waist. Seam panelling runs vertically down from the chest pockets for additional character and stops at the waistband which can be resized at the back to suit using lower tabs fastened by the same silver customised buttons that can be seen on the front. On the back of the jacket a shoulder yoke has been added with additional seam panelling underneath.

Known for a distinctly minimalistic aesthetic that demonstrates a focus on quality, cut and fabric opposed to over embellishment, A.P.C. is a paris based atelier that was founded in 1987 by Jean Touitou. With a vision to create designs that contrasted to the garish trends of the time, the first collection designed by Touitou consisted of raw denim jeans that proved popular with the target menswear market and also attracted attention from females, which led to a unisex selection being introduced the following year. For SS20, a number of the brands core designs have been refreshed for the season alongside new 1970’s inspired pieces.
